Na aankoop van mijn privé helicopter

Aangezien ik bijna alles heb, en toch nog massas geld over heb, heb ik mij maar een helicopterke gekogt :

Wel straf dat onze vriend Fabien deze Heli-drop deed met een Kona Dawg met een luchtdemper (= enduro-XC) en niet met een Stinky of Coiler en dan nog zonder bescherming?

All for the Out of Bounds, Team Kona MTB"er Fabien Barel likes his extreme riding and decided he wanted to do some proper Heli Biking. Then came the idea to jump out of a helicopter and ride down a mountain on Reunion Island in the Pacific!
Fabien later commented on the Jump:
"The Reunion Island is a paradise in the Pacific ocean. It"s essentially base on a volcano called the "Piton de la fournaise". The idea of this trip was to do heliVTT like the heliski. Ride all over the best place of the island where nobody can ride and even walk.
We rode the Piton des Neiges ( 3300 meters altitude ), the trou de fer (center of an old Volcano with waterfalls all around), and the centre of the Volcano call the Piton de la fournaise. All those places were amazing, different and beautiful. The main idea of this project was to be the first person in the World to jump from a helicopter with a bicycleÂ…
The helicopter was pretty small and the bike could not be built inside. So we had to land out on the Volcano, build the bike and take off with the bike outside of the Helicopter. It stopped on the top of the Volcano and I had to go out with all the air pressure that the machine was making.
After a little sign from Manu (Molle), the photographer, I just closed my eyes for a few seconds and weirdly, it sounded really quiet. I just push really hard on my leg to try to get out of the Air pressure as fast as I can.
It was really fun and so much adrenaline. I understood what my team-mate from the Kona Clump team call the Kona Groove !

Ik geloof wel dat hij uit een heli is gesprongen met fiets, maar dit plaatje is toch echt photoshop...
